At the AI-Ready Conference 2024, we showed how AI is used in practice. Our AI & Data Consultant Rainer Duda spoke about the use of large language models on edge devices. Find out more about our highlights and key takeaways.

Artificial intelligence is no longer the future - it is now. We were represented at the AI-Ready Conference 2024 with a stand and an exciting presentation to show how AI is being used in practice today.

Rainer Duda on large-scale language models on edge devices:

Rainer's talk was a real crowd puller. The connection between AI and edge devices, in particular the use of large language models directly on these devices, was met with great interest. He showed how AI models can be transferred from the cloud to edge devices without losing performance. One highlight was the example from the energy sector: AI helps to optimize combined heat and power plants with minimal cloud connectivity and efficient edge solutions. In the demo, participants were able to experience live how AI agents and dashboards communicate with each other in real time - without any loss of quality. Our highlights

Inspiring presentations: Ria Riemer from Bosch spoke about generative AI in quality assurance. Her team had used AI to generate training material for defective weld seams, providing an enormous amount of training material in a short space of time.
Networking: During the breaks between the presentations, our team had numerous conversations with AI managers, digitalization managers and data scientists - the exchange was valuable and informative.

Generative AI has arrived in everyday life: More and more companies are actively trying out the technology and testing its potential applications. It is as commonplace today as the internet was a few years ago.
Value creation through AI: Even if full value creation is still in development, the first applications and successes are visible.

The AI-Ready Conference was not only an excellent opportunity to gather new trends and impulses, but also a place for intensive exchange and networking. The location was great, the food was delicious and the weather played along too. There will be a follow-up event in six months' time, which we are already looking forward to. We are excited to see how developments around AI will continue and what new technological breakthroughs await us.
